Felix Mendelssohn was a German composer, who like many others established his musical credentials at a young age, and died before reaching old age. Among other forms, he wrote several sets of piano pieces called "Songs without Words". These pieces are literally that, because they have a melodic "song" and an "accompaniment" all played on the piano. But the first item by Mendelssohn is the popular Christmas Carol: Hark! Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus (1756-1791):Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born into a musical family, and as a child prodigy performed regularly throughout Europe as well as his native Austria. During his short life he was prolific as a composer using many forms, and did much to shape the development of music. While the two minuets below were composed at a very young age, the Sonata in C was composed in a simple style as a piece suitable for a developing player. The Rondo Alla Turca (in the Turkish style) comes from another piano sonata and is also well-known. The Piano Concerto movement below was used in the film "Elvira Madigan".
Erik Satie was a French composer who chose his own path in terms of musical style. In some ways he was revolutionary and in others merely reactionary. However, he showed that it wasn't necessary to use big dramatic orchestral sounds to move an audience, and his output was inspirational to the French impressionists. He composed a number of simple yet unusual piano pieces like the well-known works here.
Fernando Sor was born in Barcelona and lived much of his life in Paris. Tallis, Thomas (1505-1585?):Thomas Tallis, like Byrd, was an English composer devoted to writing works for the church. A few of his works are still used as hymn tunes today. The Third Mode Melody below was used by Ralph Vaughan-Williams as a basis for a work of atmospheric variations.
Among the things that Tchaikovsky was famous for, was the creation of music full of emotion and likeable melodies with inventive orchestration. These characteristics were very obvious in his ballet music which included The Sleeping Beauty", "Swan Lake" and "The Nutcracker" from which the "Sugar Plum Fairy" is well-known. Tchaikovsky also composed many short piano works.
The page serves to describe and make available my interpretations of classical piano works. Although I am a layman in terms of music, I have set myself the goal of painstakingly interpreting difficult works. I would like to make these works accessible to as many musically interested people as possible.
For on-the-go functionality, an iPad or iPhone with GarageBand installed can be like having a multi-track studio on the road with you when paired with a mobile interface like a RØDE AI Micro.

MIDI data conveys information about a musical performance. Most notably, which notes are being pressed, how hard they are struck, and how long they are held for. Many of the controllers DJs use will also utilize MIDI to communicate with apps like Serato or Traktor.
The element contains information about time signatures, key signatures, transpositions, clefs, and other musical data that is usually specified at the beginning of a piece or at the start of a measure. We discuss the MIDI-compatible elements here. Other elements like and are discussed later in this tutorial.
Musical durations are commonly referred to as fractions: whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and the like. While each musical note could have a fraction associated with it, MusicXML instead follows MIDI by specifying the number of divisions per quarter note at the start of a musical part, and then specifying note durations in terms of these divisions.
Standard key signatures are represented like MIDI key signatures. The element specifies the number of flats or sharps in the key signature - negative for flats, positive for sharps. The fifths name indicates that this value represents the key signature's position on the circle of fifths. MusicXML uses the element to indicate major or minor key signatures.
While monophonic instruments like trumpet, flute, and voice move along one note at a time, instruments like the piano can have many musical lines at once. Take this simple example from the first bar of Frederic Chopin's Prelude, Op. 28, No. 20:
While repeats can have forward or backward direction, endings can have three different type attributes: start, stop, and discontinue. The start value is used at the beginning of an ending, at the beginning of a measure. A typical first ending starts like this:
After Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, some composers felt there was nowhere else to go within traditional tonality and they began to experiment with more avant-garde styles of music. All this, and it sounds sumptuously wonderful, too.
When I was little I used to play the piano, I got to fur elise level and my life took another direction, now at 25 I got back to it again, I got a small midi keyboard -VI25-Controller-Assignable-Production/dp/B00IWVL3SW . I thought it would be sufficient for my needs, as I wanted to have some full sized keys and thought that the stuff I play would be sufficient in this 25 key range, I wanted to play jazz, rock .. maybe metal and classical songs and I thought the pads and knobs will be very cool and I will use them..well... now this 25 key range doesn't catch what I want to play at all... I barely use the knobs and pads, I just pick some sound font, run a drum machine on the PC and play ... So I think of upgrading to a bigger keyboard . I live in a place where I can not test these products and have to just order them over the internet. The question is ... digital piano or MIDI?
